Root Savers

Exclusive to 9 Apes, root savers are designed to improve the conditions inside plant pots for roots that are sensitive to rot. Root savers are hand made from a specially selected, unglazed ceramic. They are Australian owned and made from Australian materials.

Root savers work by creating a cavity of air inside the pot, with multiple drainage holes that connect the roots with this air cavity. This allows better aeration of the potting mix inside the pot, as well as improves drainage. Root savers also help wick away excess moisture from the potting mix by absorbing the perched water table. This is often where root rot starts. 

Root savers can help the removal of your plant from the pot with minimal damage. Just find an appropriate implement such as a rod or stick or chopstick, and push on the root saver through the drainage hole of the pot. Root savers have enough rigid strength to push the entire plant up through the pot.

Root savers can be reused and with care could last for many many years.
